Dress with lace-up bodice and convertible bustle skirt. The pattern can also be used to create a corset style top. *intermediate*
The Georgian Polonaise Dress takes inspiration from the Robe à la Polonaise style of the late 18th century and adapts it into the perfect modern layering piece. This sleeveless dress features a supportive bodice with lace-up closure, a mid-length skirt with hidden bustle ties, and a contrasting hem facing. The skirt can be worn either buttoned closed, open, or bustled up to reveal another skirt (or maybe your favourite jeans) underneath.
Though a true Robe à la Polonaise is cut in one piece at the back, we’ve designed this dress with a waist seam, enabling you to easily adapt the pattern to create a corset style bodice.
The PDF pattern includes an illustrated instructions document, print-at-home pattern files in A4 and US Letter size paper, and copyshop pattern files. There are 13 sizes included in the pattern – please see the size chart in the photos for measurements and fabric yardages. There is a grading guide available on the website if you need to adjust your pattern between sizes. Please note that PDF pattern files do not include layers.

The pattern has a great fit. I needed to make some adjustments and followed the instructions on the website. Very pleased.
