The Edwardian Walking Skirt is inspired by practical, everyday skirts of the 1890s. This gored skirt fits smoothly over the front of the body and flares out towards the ankle-length hem. It features a pleated back for extra fullness, side seam pockets, and a placket and hook/bar closure at the centre back. The hem is finished with horsehair braid.
Difficulty: beginner
This pattern is for an ankle-length skirt, if you'd prefer to make a shortened version (like the green skirt in the photos) you can adjust your pattern using the instructions in this lengthening/shortening guide on the website. There is also a grading guide available on the website if you need to adjust your pattern between sizes.
The PDF pattern includes an illustrated instructions document, print-at-home pattern files (A4 and US Letter compatible), and copyshop pattern files. The pattern files have layered sizes, which means you can hide any sizes you don't need before printing. There are 13 sizes included in the pattern – please see the size chart in the photos for measurements and fabric yardages.
For personal use only. Not for manufacture or resale.
